“Queen Of Hearts” was previously recorded by Dave Edmunds followed by Rodney Crowell. Juice Newton covered the song for her 1981 album ‘Juice’. Her version proved to be the most lucrative, charting high in America (where it reached #2 Pop), Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Two versions of “Jackson” charted during 1967. Both were remakes. Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter scored the #3 Country Chart hit, while Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood had the pop smash.

In 1968, Merilee Rush scored a hit with her cover of “Angel Of The Morning”. Juice Newton recorded her own remake for the ‘Juice’ album. This interpretation proved to be more popular, charting Country, Pop and remaining at the top of the Easy Listening Chart for 3 weeks. Newton also made the Top 5 in Canada, Australia and New Zealand with her cover.

The Oak Ridge Boys recorded the most successful version of “Elvira”. In America and Canada, the song topped the Country Chart. It remains the group’s signature song.

“Always On My Mind” has been interpreted by a variety of acts ranging from Elvis Presley to Pet Shop Boys. Willie Nelson approached the song from a country perspective and struck gold. As well as topping the US Country Chart, it made Top 5 on the Pop and Easy Listening listings. The song collected 3 Grammy Awards: for Song of the Year, Best Country Song and Best Male Country Vocal Performance.
