THE 37 EUROVISION 2024 SONGS ranked in order. Today: #15-11.  More: tomorrow.

EUROVISION 2024

THE 37 SONGS

(in order of preference)

The number of competitors for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has remained the same with Romania withdrawing and Luxembourg returning after an absence of 31 years. This year, the ESC will be held in host city Malmö, Sweden in May following that country’s seventh win in 2023. Caffè Lattè has ranked all of the 37 entries in terms of sonic quality, as it does annually. The higher the ranking, the better the song.

This year, all of the 37 entries have redeeming qualities. Unusually, there is no major standout, but none of the songs for the 2024 Contest are woeful. Therefore, even the songs at the bottom are not there because of low appeal, but because the ones ranked higher are slightly superior.

*Note that a live performance and the on-stage presentation may alter the overall impact of a song once the Semi-Finals begin.

(NENDEST) NARKOOTIKUMIDEST EI TEA ME

(KÜLL) MIDAGI

5Minust & Puuluup

Estonia

For trivia buffs: this entry has the longest title ever seen at Eurovision. It translates as “we (sure) know nothing about (these) drugs”. The Estonian entry brings together two of the country’s interesting musical acts: 5Minust and Puuluup. The song, written by the 2 acts, will be performed in Estonian during the second semi-final. Its quirky nature will hopefully see it earn a deserved place in the Grand Final.

LUKTELK

Silvester Belt

Lithuania

This song should gather momentum during Eurovision week. It is catchy and upbeat. Silvester Belt will be performing the song in Lithuanian during the first semi-final. Its title means “wait / hold on”. Belt is one of the writers of its lyrics. As a gay celebrity, he is doing much to change attitudes in Lithuania. Expect a Top 10 placing in the Grand Final.

NO RULES!

Windows95Man

Finland

In 2023, Finland finished in second place and won the televote with “Cha Cha Cha”.  A few countries have chosen to emulate that song for this year’s Contest. In fact, that is the case with “No Rules!”. It is fast-paced and catchy, but inferior to the 2023 entry. It deserves to progress from Semi-Final 1 into the Grand Final. Expect a thrilling performance.

JAKO

Ladaniva

Armenia

Armenia will be represented in 2024 by “Jako”, one of its best entries ever at Eurovision. The musical duo Ladaniva contributed to the song’s composition. It will be performed in Armenian during Semi-Final 2. With a strong fusion of varied styles, it should be embraced by many televoters across Europe.

BEFORE THE PARTY’S OVER

Mustii

Belgium

A big celebrity on Belgian TV, Mustii will be belting out his powerful song in the second Semi-Final. He is one of its co-writers. A lot will depend on his delivery but the music video hints that Mustii is more than capable of wowing.
