In 1991, after all the points were announced, Sweden and France ended up joint winners. The tie-breaker rule was applied. Both countries had received 12 points from 4 countries. As Carola’s song had attracted more 10 points than the French entry, Sweden emerged triumphant. This win marked a rare exception where a song not performed in English managed to win during the period when countries could only sing in their official national languages. The title translates as “Captured By A Love Storm” and is a fast paced fun number.
