EUROVISION SONG CONTEST:
66 WINNING SONGS
(1956-2018)
Caffé Latté is looking
back at every one of the 66 ESC winning songs in order of preference.
#37
UN BANC, UN ARBRE, UNE
RUE
Severine
MONACO - 1971
12 POINTS FROM: Belgium; Norway; Germany; Yugoslavia; Sweden
& Switzerland.
Each country had 2 jurors (1 had to be under 25 years of age)
which then awarded between 1-5 points to each song. This resulted in
inconsistent scoring, as some juries tended to give low points to some
countries. The winning entry was
performed in French and its title means: “A bench, a tree, a street”. This
polished song today is not among Eurovision’s most memorable.
