12 POINTS FROM: Ireland; Israel; Turkey & United Kingdom.

 

Although 5 countries gave the UK 12 points, “Rock Me” emerged triumphant. The win proved timely, as instability within Yugoslavia was building. In a few short years, Yugoslavia would cease to exist and new nations would emerge and return as competitors in the ESC. In a field dominated by ballads, “Rock Me” – a more upbeat entry- left an impression that year.
