-Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' album is repackaged to mark its 25th anniversary.
-Mariah Carey clocks up her 18th US #1 single with "Touch My Body",  behind only The Beatles.
-"So What" becomes Pink's 1st solo US #1 single. 
-Tina Turner starts off on her 50th anniversary tour which will gross US$130million+.

2008 saw the arrival of Lady Gaga. Her dance music and fashion sense grabbed attention. Dance music explored new sound possibilities with releases from Hot Chip, Sam Sparro and The Presets. Kings of Leon released "Sex On Fire".  Among the emerging new talent were Sia, Taylor Swift, Adele, T.I. and Jordin Sparks. R.E.M., Donna Summer and AC/DC issued new material.
