SOMEWHERE

Initially, ‘The Broadway Album’ was to be a live double album. Seventeen songs were recorded. In the end, 5 were culled. David Foster produced Streisand’s remake of the Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim classic. She envisaged a new approach to “Somewhere” from the hit musical “West Side Story”. Foster was rewarded with a Grammy Award for his efforts.

NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS

Michel Legrand composed the music for “No Matter What Happens”. Married couple Alan and Marilyn Bergman wrote the lyrics. They intended it to fit the movie plot in ‘Yentl’ but wanted their words to resonate with anyone feeling marginalized,
