Trivia:

Many of Olivia Newton-John's hits were written by her producer John Farrar. "Sam:" was one of the exceptions. He composed the music with Hank Marvin (of UK band The Shadows) and later recruited Don Black to come up with lyrics for the ballad. The latter had already helped create the #1 hits "To Sir With Love" (Lulu) and "Ben" (Michael Jackson) as well as the title songs for the James Bond films 'Thunderball', "Diamonds Are Forever' and 'The Man With The Golden Gun'. Later, Black collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber on many of his stage musicals, including "Sunset Boulevard".
