Since the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest, 51 countries have competed in the annual event. This look back features each country in order of appearance and highlights that nation’s best entry so far.

The second Eurovision Song Contest was held in Frankfurt, West Germany. The number of participating nations rose to 10. From this year, each nation has been represented by just one song. In order of performance that year the debuting nations were:
