CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#465 GOD ONLY KNOWS The Beach Boys
Many of The Beach Boys' singles were mini- masterpieces. The harmonies, the production and the creative vision of principal member Brian Wilson still marvel us to this day. "God Only Knows" is widely regarded as 1 of the best songs ever recorded.
Wilson and Tony Asher created some of the tracks on the group's magnum opus, 'Pet Sounds'. That album was unleashed in 1966. The latter took time out of his regular day job in the advertising industry to collaborate with the Beach Boys.
"God..." features Carl Wilson on lead vocals. Many radio stations in the US banned the song because its use of the word 'God" in the title. The track was the B-side for "Wouldn't it be Nice" - which had also been written by the 2 writers.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
