Rod Stewart recorded "I Don't Want To Talk About It" for his 1975 album 'Atlantic Crossing'. Two years later, it was issued as part of a double A-sided single with "The First Cut Is The Deepest". The disc topped the British chart. In 1979, it finally charted in America, albeit failing to crack the Top 40.
The original version of "I Don't Want To Talk About It" was recorded by the rock group Crazy Horse. Although best known as Neil Young's backing band, the act featured Danny Whitten, who penned the ballad. Their recording appeared on Crazy Horse's self-titled 1971 album.
