Trivia: Janet Jackson finally broke through internationally in her own right with the 1986 album 'Control'. The LP saw her collaborating for the first time with writer / producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. "Control", its title track, was the album's 4th single and dealt with the singer's empowerment as she steered her career into a new phase.
