These soundtracks did not fit the criteria, but are definitely worth highlighting as exceptional tie-ins to films.

 

THE BLUES BROTHERS

1980

John Belushi and  Dan Aykroyd created The Blues Brothers characters for the “Saturday Night Live” TV comedy series. The cult film featured R&B greats such as Cab Colloway, James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles. The soundtrack album consisted of remakes of classics including  “Peter Gunn Theme”, “Think”, “Shake Your Tailfeather”, “Sweet Home Chicago” and “Think”.
