THE TOP 100 SONGS FROM MUSICALS. (#49). More: tomorrow.

Caffè Lattè presents:

 THE

TOP 100 SONGS

FROM

 MUSICALS

🎭

From New York’s Broadway and London’s West End to stages across the globe, musicals have attracted audiences flocking to catch the classics and the innovative. Caffè Lattè has compiled a list of 100 of the best songs from stage shows. These are all songs created specifically for the stage productions and not theatrical versions of movies or jukebox musicals (eg. “The Lion King”, “Saturday Night Fever” or “Mamma Mia!” and “Jersey Boys”). They’ve touched us or made us cry and some have had us up on our feet dancing in the aisles.

GREASED LIGHTNIN’

Grease

Before the perennial box office hit movie, “Grease” was a popular musical set in the 1950s. The film adaptation features many new songs created specifically for the screen version, but this song was one of the standouts in the earlier stage presentation. After first opening in Chicago in 1971, the show opened on Broadway the following year.
