THE TOP 100 SONGS FROM MUSICALS. (#3). More: tomorrow.

Caffè Lattè presents:

 THE

TOP 100 SONGS

FROM

 MUSICALS

🎭

From New York’s Broadway and London’s West End to stages across the globe, Caffè Lattè has compiled a list of 100 of the best songs from stage shows. These are all songs created specifically for the stage productions and not theatrical versions of movies or jukebox musicals (eg. “The Lion King”, “Saturday Night Fever” or “Mamma Mia!” and “Jersey Boys”). They’ve touched us or made us cry and some have had us up on our feet dancing in the aisles.

MEMORY

Cats

“Cats” may not be one of the best musicals ever, but it did enjoy a lengthy run on Broadway. Featuring music composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, this production was based on poems by T.S. Eliot. The show opened on the West End in 1981. It premiered on Broadway 2 years later and collected 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical.

“Memory” is performed by Grizabella, the Glamour Cat. The song has been recorded by high calibre vocalists, including Elaine Paige, Jennifer Hudson and Barbra Streisand.
