KATE
CEBERANO
Kate Ceberano was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1966. She first tasted success as a member of the funk group I'm Talking in 1985 with the hits "Trust Me", "Holy Word" and "Love Don't Live Here Anymore". The band split in 1987. Ceberano has never left the public spotlight, embracing an array of musical genres.
A live jazz album was her first solo release in 1987. It was followed the next year by the duet album 'You've Always Got The Blues' recorded with Wendy Matthews.
Ceberano's first solo foray into pop was with the 1989 album 'Brave'. This LP spawned the hits "Bedroom Eyes", "Young Boys Are My Weakness", "Love Dimension", "That's What I Call Love" and the title track.
In 1992, Ceberano portrayed Mary Magdalene in the revamped Australian production of the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" alongside John Farnham and Jon Stevens in the roles of Jesus and Judas respectively. The cast album topped the Australian chart. Ceberano charted with the singles "Everything's Alright" and "I Don't Know How To Love Him" from the show.
"Pash" would return her to the domestic Top 10 again in 1997. In the meantime, Ceberano was a fixture on TV with appearances on shows such as "Getaway", "Dancing With The Stars" and "The X Factor". Her most recent album was 2015's 'Lullaby', a collaborative project with Nigel MacLean.
