"Taxi" tells the story of an unexpected re-union of Harry and Sue. Years have passed since their last meet. Sue hails down a taxi cab and slowly recognizes the driver. He goes through the same process, while memories of their past as lovers flood his mind.
Harry Chapin wrote "Taxi", a chart hit in 1972. It is a lengthy story song, running for almost 7 minutes. The single was lifted from Chapin's 'Heads And Tales' album.
