The all-female group The Go-Gos scored success in 1981 with "Our Lips Are Sealed". "Head Over Heels", penned by group members Charlotte Caffey and Kathy Valentine, charted 3 years later and was lifted off the band's 'Talk Show' album.

Following the success of his rendition of "The Prayer", it was inevitable that "Australian Idol" finalist Anthony Callea would search out a similar song. "Per Sempre", written by Steve Balsamo and Ben Robbins, was lifted off Callea's 1st album and peaked at #5 in Australia in 2005.
