BEFORE IT WAS A HIT XXXVII: Let's Stick Together. Continues tomorrow.
These songs are well known but you may not know about the earlier attempts to score a hit record with prior versions of the same song.
Let’s Stick Together
Bryan Ferry reached #1 in Australia and #4 in Britain with his solo single "Let's Stick Together" in 1976. This was a remake of a song written by Wilbert Harrison. In 1962, the latter released the original version.
It was later re-recorded under the new title "Let's Work Together". A cover version under that name by Canned Heat in 1970 peaked at #2 in Britain and cracked the US Top 40.
