These songs are well known but you may not know about the earlier attempts to score a hit record with prior versions of the same song.
I Think We’re Alone Now

Tiffany topped both the UK and US charts with her 1987 single "I Think We're Alone Now" from the American teen singer's multi-platinum debut album 'Tiffany'. This remains the most successful version of the song.
The original recording was issued in 1967 by American group Tommy James & The Shondells. On Billboard's Hot 100 chart, the disc climbed to #4. It did not chart in Britain.
