These songs are well known but you may not know about the earlier attempts to score a hit record with prior versions of the same song.

I’m Free

"I'm Free" was a popular track in 1990. The Soup Dragons reached #5 in Britain and made the Top 10 in Australia and New Zealand. Although it failed to crack the US Top 40, the single peaked at #2 on Billboard's Alternative Chart.

The song was a cover of a Rolling Stones original written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. In 1965, it was used as the flip side for the group's major hit "Get Off Of My Cloud". "I'm Free" was included on the British version of 'Out Of Our Heads' and later on the American pressings of the 'December's Children (And Everybody's)' album.
