A GUIDE TO EUROVISION 2021 - Voting for Eurovision Songs. More tomorrow.

Everything You Need To Know About:

EUROVISION

2021

It’s 2021 and… Eurovision is back! The COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancellation of the 2020 Contest.

Europe’s favourite annual music event is set to start on May 18. Here’s a guide to how the Eurovision Song Contest works.

Voting for Eurovision Songs

If you live in one of the countries performing in a semi-final, you are able to vote. You cannot vote for your own country. Similarly, you cannot vote in the other semi-final. If you are in one of the ‘Big 5’ countries and the host nation, a semi-final has been allocated for you to vote in. These televotes will determine which 10 songs will progress to the Grand Final.

Once all entries have been performed in the Grand Final, anyone in the 39 participating countries can vote for the 26 finalists. Each country has a jury panel whose scores will be combined with the public’s preferences to calculate the overall winner on the big night.
