The Trammps formed in Philadelphia in 1972. "Disco Inferno" was released in 1976. The following year, it peaked at #16 in Britain and stalled at #53 in the US. Its inclusion on the 'Saturday Night Fever' soundtrack album led to its re-issue in America in 1978 where it peaked at #11.
