MUSIC ACROSS THE OLYMPIADS. Today: 1996. Continues tomorrow.

As the world’s elite athletes compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Caffè Lattè will focus on the best music that emerged during each Olympiad. Each period considers songs from the years prior to the new Games.

MUSIC ACROSS THE OLYMPIADS

A fire, emitting many different-colored stars, burns from a cauldron represented by the gold-colored Olympic rings and the number "100" acting as the cauldron's stand. The words "Atlanta 1996", also written in gold, are placed underneath. The image is situated on a dark green background, with a gold border.

The Olympics were held in the United States for the fourth time when Atlanta hosted the 1996 Games. This also marked the 100th anniversary of the inaugural Modern Olympic Games held in Athens, Greece.

Among the biggest music acts at this time were: Janet Jackson, Oasis and Mariah Carey.
