11	GO WEST Pet Shop Boys In 1979, The Village People issued the original version of “Go West”. The Pet Shop Boys’ cover of the LGBTQ+ anthem was released in 1993. Its lyrics deal with a nirvana where members of the community can prosper and live in harmony.
