#786 MOONLIGHT FEELS RIGHT Starbuck
The group Starbuck formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1974. Many of its members had previously worked together in other bands such as Eternity's Children and Extravaganza. By 1975, they were signed to Private Stock and singer / keyboard player Bruce Blackman came up with the breakthrough song "Moonlight Feels Right". When first released, the single flopped. A DJ in Alabama gave the song airplay in the following year and local popularity soon grew into a #3 hit song on the American pop chart. They enjoyed 4 other chart appearances, but never came close to the Top 20 again. Starbuck split in 1980.
