#811 OH ME OH MY (I'M A FOOL FOR YOU BABY) Lulu
Born Marie Lawrie in Glasgow, the world has known her as Lulu since her first chart hit "Shout" in 1964. She acted in the movie 'To Sir With Love' and scored an international hit with its title song 3 years later. In 1969, Lulu married Maurice Gibb, of the Bee Gees. Late that year the Scottish performer released "Oh Me Oh My". Written by Jim Doris, it failed to chart high but remains a highlight in the singer's catalogue. It is a sweet ballad and is sung with clear articulation by Lulu. Aretha Franklin covered the song in 1972. Other remakes have followed since.
