They may be dismissed for recording cheesy bubblegum pop, but some of the hits from S Club 7 will put a jump in your step and a smile on your face from its sheer exuberance. "Reach" was penned and produced by Cathy Dennis with Andy Todd. Both were experienced songwriters and performers. The latter was a member of Republica, a dance / pop band that scored with "Ready to Go" in 1997. Dennis had enjoyed hits such as "Just Another Dream" and "Too Many Walls". Dennis was 1 of S Club 7's main songwriters.
The group consisted of 7 twinks, singing upbeat songs brimming with ebullience. The group formed in Britain in 1999. Their first single, "Bring it all Back", headed straight to the top that same year in the UK and became a Top 3 smash in several other countries. "S Club Party", the follow-up, proved their initial success was no fluke. "You're My Number One" became another Top 3 hit."Reach" was the first single from 2nd album '7', released in 2000. It peaked at #2 in Britain.
