#824 SOMEBODY TO LOVE Queen
'A Day at the Races' was Queen's follow up to their hit LP 'A Night at the Opera'. The new album was issued in 1976 with "Somebody To Love" its first single. The song, penned by lead singer Freddie Mercury, stormed up the chart. It peaked at #2 in the UK and made the Top 10 in the USA. The harmonies are back on this track, but infused with a rich gospel treatment; further evidence of Queen's creative brilliance. 

#823 LITTLE JEANNIE Elton John
Elton John released the album '21 at 33' in 1980. It featured 3 tracks written with regular collaborator Bernie Taupin, 2 with musician Tom Robinson, 1 with Rocket artist Judie Tzuke and 3
co-written with Gary Osborne, including "Little Jeannie". The latter had worked with John on his previous 'A Single Man' LP. "Little Jeannie" was a major hit for John; peaking at #3 in America. It features Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Timothy B. Schmit, members of The Eagles on backing vocals.

Credited - as usual - to all membes of the group, "All I Want Is You" is a beautiful 6.30 minute-long love song which closes U2's 'Rattle and Hum' album. Released as a single in 1989, it reached #1 in Ireland and peaked at #2 in Australia and #4 in the UK.

With lyrics from Barry Mason and music by Les Reed, "Delilah" became one of the signature songs for Welsh pop star Tom Jones. Packed with his soul / pop vocals and flamenco touches, it was soon sitting at #2 in Britain when released in 1968. It was also a very successful song throughout Europe.  

#820 WHAT DO YOU WANT THE GIRL TO DO? Boz Scaggs
"What Do You Want The Girl To Do?" is one of the 2 tracks on the 'Silk Degrees' album not penned by Boz Scaggs. This song was written by New Orleans producer/ songwriter / performer Allen Toussaint. He recorded the original for his 1975 LP 'Southern Nights'. Scaggs' cover became a radio staple as an album track the following year. Check out the original to fully appreciate the lyrics in a diverse setting.
