Trivia:

The original version of "Gloria" was a 1979 pop smash sung in Italian by one of its co-writers: Umberto Tozzi. Two years later, Laura Branigan covered the song with new English lyrics. In 1984, she covered another Tozzi hit song, "Ti Amo" which was a Top 5 hit in Canada and Australia. Branigan's "Gloria" reached #1 in both countries in 1983.
