When issued in 1985, “A View To A Kill” became the highest charting Bond song. Duran Duran was a popular group that had notched up several hit singles, including “Girls On Film”, “Hungry Like The Wolf”, “The Reflex” and “The Wild Boys”. As well as recording the title song, the band members co-wrote it with John Barry. Funk group Chic member Bernard Edwards co-produced the title song with Duran Duran and Jason Corsaro.
The single “A View To A Kill” was the first Bond song to top the US chart. In Britain, the disc almost did the same, stalling at #2 for 3 weeks. The song did succeed in topping the chart in Canada and several European countries.
Roger Moore portrayed James Bond for the seventh and final time in this film. It would also be the last instalment to feature Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny.
