#1135 LITTLE BITTY PRETTY ONE Jackson 5
"Little Bitty Pretty One" was written by Robert Byrd, who released the original version of the song in 1957 under the name of Bobby Day. In the following year, it was covered by R&B vocal group Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers. This act was the prototype for the Jackson 5, so it was perhaps not surprising that the siblings also cut a version of the song.
The Jacksons' version was issued as a single in 1972 and included on their 'Lookin' Through the Windows' album on Motown. Michael's vocals stand out, but some of his brothers also share lead vocal duties on this track. Interestingly, another Day hit song, "Rockin' Robin", was released by Michael Jackson as a single in 1972.
