To be eligible, the song needed to be released- as a single or on an album- during the years 1970-1979.

The Sex Pistols crash-landed onto the pop scene with debut single "Anarchy In The U.K.". Its stinging lyrics attracted a new audience. Punk rock had arrived in Britain. The group proved you didn't need to know how to play an instrument to leave your mark.
