PLEASE HELP ME I’M FALLING
“…I can never be free, dear,
but when I’m with you,
I know that I’m losing
the will to be true...”
"Please Help Me I'm Falling" was penned in 1960. Hank Locklin recorded the original version. The song involves a married woman that has developed strong feelings for another man. She takes her marriage vows seriously and is struggling to resist the urge to be unfaithful.
Over the subsequent decades, the beautiful song has been covered by a wide array of performers. These have included Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn & Tammy Wynette in 1993, Puff Johnson in 1996 and Gladys Knight 5 years later.
As new songs are covered on this blog, a definitive version will be added to a spotify playlist. Find it and the other Caffé Latté playlists at:
