LANGUAGES
The rules regarding languages has changed over the decades. At present, any entry may be performed in any language. Some countries choose to perform a song in their national tongue. The vast majority of winning songs have been sung in English.

In 2017, Portugal finally won at Eurovision with a song performed in Portuguese. “Sanomi”, the 2003 Belgian entry was sung in a language invented for the competition. It finished in 2nd place!
