In 2019, the Dutch entry “Arcade”, performed by Duncan Lawrence, won the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel. As a result, the Netherlands gained the right to hold the 2020 Contest. Rotterdam was selected as the host city.
This will be the 5th time the Contest has been held in the Netherlands, but the first time the ESC has been held in the 2nd largest Dutch city. Previous host cities in the country have been: Hilversum (1958), Amsterdam (1970) and The Hague (1976 & 1980).
By the way, Dublin holds the record for hosting the most Eurovision Song Contests. It has been the host city 6 times!
