He certainly was not a pleasant person, treating some of the people in his life with cruelty, but there’s no denying the impact of Phil Spector on popular culture. First as a member of The Teddy Bears, then creating the thrilling Wall Of Sound and his skill as a songwriter will ensure his influence on music will remain timeless.

Behind this irresistible song that struck a chord with teens all over the planet, was a toxic relationship with Phil Spector in the Svengali role, controlling Ronnie Spector. That aside, the single "Be My Baby" was a defining moment in the girl group era. Producer Spector co-wrote the hit with Elie Greenwich and Jeff Barry. In 1963, the disc shot to the Top 5 in America, Britain, Canada and New Zealand.
