Chuck Berry

Maybelline.jpgChuck Berry was keen to record some songs. Muddy Waters suggested he try his luck at Chess Records. There, Leonard Chess considered some of his song ideas before stumbling upon “Ida Red”. A session was arranged, Soon, that song had been re-titled “Maybelline”. Berry injected his revolutionary rock ‘n’ roll track with a blast from his guitar. By doing so, the rock pioneer established himself as one of the fundamental architects of the genre. He continued to unleash a series of seminal rock classics, including “Johnny B. Goode”, “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Rock And Roll Music”.
