Female trio Stargard topped the US Soul Chart with the "Theme Song From 'Which Way Is Up'", a film starring Richard Pryor. The song was penned by Norman Whitfield, who had previously written and/ or produced hits for Marvin Gaye ("I Heard It Through The Grapevine"), The Temptations ("Papa Was A Rolling Stone"), Edwin Starr ("War") and Rose Royce ("Car Wash").
