The 2 best-selling members of the Jackson clan joined forces for this duet which was included on Michael’s ‘HIStory: Past, Present And Future – Book 1’ album. Its accompanying video – the most expensive ever made- cost $7 million. The collaboration was a Top 5 single in America, Britain, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. It was issued as a double A-sided single with "Childhood".

This song was from the film ‘Lady Sings The Blues’ which starred Diana Ross (who sang the film version), a major influence on young Michael. At the time, both were on the Motown label. Michael’s remake was included on his 1973 album ‘Music & Me’. The song was written by Michel Legrand with Motown titan Smokey Robinson. Hal Davis produced Michael’s version. The single was re-released in 1983.

The title song from Janet’s album ‘Rhythm Nation 1814’ was issued in 1989. Released as its second single, the song peaked at #2 in America and #23 in the UK. It also topped Billboard’s R&B Chart.

The first music act to achieve 5 US #1 singles from 1 album was Janet Jackson. With “Another Part Of Me”, Michael became the second to do so. Before the track was included on the ‘Bad’ album, the song was created by Michael for the 3D Disney film ‘Captain Eo’. This project was produced by George Lucas and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The song was featured at the end of the film which premiered at Disney World in Orlando, Florida in September 1986.
