DADDY’S HOME

Jermaine Jackson

After the phenomenal success of a string of hit singles by The Jackson 5, Motown began to groom Michael and Jermaine for simultaneous solo careers. The latter’s solo debut album ‘Jermaine’ was issued in 1972. Jermaine’s cover of the 1961 hit single by Shep and the Limelites reached #9 Pop and #3 Soul.

CENTIPEDE

Rebbie Jackson

With the Jackson brothers being such hot property, especially Michael, it was inevitable that their sisters would vie for chart action too. Rebbie, the eldest of the Jackson siblings, built up her resumé singing on albums by The Emotions and Betty Wright before scoring her own hit single in 1984. The title track from her ‘Centipede’ album was penned and produced by her brother Michael. In the U.S., the single peaked at #4 Soul and #24 Pop.

Janet Jackson

By the time Janet released her 1989 album ‘Rhythm Nation 1814’, she had established herself as a chart force. Its fourth single reached #20 in Britain and #4 Stateside. Janet co-wrote the hit with her producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
