The group Sade took its name from lead singer Helen Folosade Adu. Growing up in Nigeria, the locals refused to call her by her English first name. Her parents shortened her middle name to "Sade". "The Sweetest Taboo" was the lead single off the English group's sophomore album 'The Promise'.
