At the time of its release, "Penny Arcade" became Roy Orbison's biggest chart hit in Australia. The single was the singer's last Top 40 entry in the UK until his comeback in 1988 with "Handle With Care" (as one of The Traveling Wilburys) and solo the following year with "You Got It".
