Trivia:

Motown's first million-selling single was "Shop Around", recorded by The Miracles. The groyp's lead singer Smokey Robinson's first attempt at the song was intended for Barrett Strong who had scored the label's first major hit: "Money (That's What I Want)". When the songwriter presented the song to Motown's President Berry Gordy Jr., the latter made some alterations. He then suggested The Miracles record it instead, with the group's Claudette Rogers (Smokey's wife at the time) singing the lead. Soon after, Gordy summoned the group back in the studio with a new approach to the song and with Robinson on lead vocals. His instincts proved to be accurate. The Motown single became the label's first Pop Top 10 smash and its first #1 on the Soul Chart,
