U2 released their version of the powerful song "One" for inclusion on their 'Achtung Baby' album in 1991. All 4 members of the group are credited as its songwriters. Mary J. Blige recorded a remake for her 2005 album 'The Breakthrough'. Bono added backup vocals while The Edge played guitar, Adam Clayton contributed bass guitar and Larry Mullen Jr. drummed on her R&B - flavoured interpretation. It's worth noting that the original version reached the Top 10 in the US but the Blige collaboration failed to dent the Top 40; while in the UK, the remake made it to #2 - improving on its original #7 peak there.
