CAFFE` LATTE` TOP 2000 TRACKS

#101 OFF THE WALL Michael Jackson
The title track from Michael Jackson's watershed  'Off The Wall' was the 3rd single lifted off the
album. Rod Temperton, who had also penned its predecessor "Rock With You", created the song. He also provided the rhythm arrangement.
Quincy Jones handled the track's production in 1978.  Louis Johnson (from The Brothers Johnson) played bass on the cut. Greg Phillinganes contributed electric piano and synthesizer. The track features The Seawind Horns. They performed an arrangement by Jerry Hey.
"Off The Wall" is a winsome track which creates elation. The song was issued as a single in late 1979. The disc reached the Top 10 in both the USA and Britain. On Billboard's R&B Chart, the single peaked at #5.
Jackson's career soared to new heights following the release of the LP 'Off The Wall'. All 4 of the singles released from the parent album became Top 10 hits on the US Pop Chart. He enjoyed even greater success with the mammoth sales of 'Thriller'. Unleashed in 1982, the LP has reportedly sold in excess of 70 million copies globally. Subsequent years saw Jackson's dominance in the pop arena maintained, with album releases that included 'Bad' in 1987, 'Dangerous' in 1991 and (Disc 2 of) 'HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I' in 1995.
As the gaps between album projects widened, Jackson remained prolific in his writing and recording song ideas. Some of these outtakes and incomplete works have resurfaced in the years following his shock death in 2009. Jackson's recorded output will ensure he is long regarded as 1 of the key pop music acts.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
A new song from the remaining Top 100 is added each weekday, while another 2 are also included from positions 1501-2000 daily. Check back here every 12 hours for an update of the 2000.
