CAFFE` LATTE` TOP 2000 TRACKS

#103 UNDER ATTACK Abba
The final song released by ABBA before it became apparent that they had dissolved was "Under Attack". Issued after 'The Visitors' LP, this song was later added as a bonus track on a repackaged version of the album.
"Under Attack" was written by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. It features Agnetha Faltskog on lead vocals, whose approach adds to the paranoia contained within its lyrics. Andersson's contribution on the synthesizer is prominent.
By the time of the single's release, ABBA was at a crossroad. Creatively, the group had moved forward. Andersson was constructing clever arrangements for their new material and Ulvaeus' writing had evolved considerably. The tracks were more insightful and mature, if not as hook-driven. The previous release, "The Day Before You Came", is 1 of the Swedish band's best songs. Unfortunately for ABBA, its fan base had not grown with them. Their sales in the early 1980s paled compared to the truckloads sold in the group's heyday. "Under Attack" was most likely discovered by more members of the public through its inclusion in the musical "Mamma Mia!" than when it was out as a single in late 1982.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
A new song from the Top 2000 is added each day, while another 2 are also included from positions 1501-2000 daily. Check back here every 12 hours for an update of the 2000.
