Softly, As I Leave You

In 1964 Sinatra made a slight concession to the dominant rock music on the pop landscape. The result was his 'Softly, As I Leave You' album. The title track had originally been an Italian sing entitled "Piano". New English lyrics were written for remakes by Sinatra and others. It remains a beautiful ballad, not unlike the ones Elvis Presley would record at the time.
