A film adaptation of the stage musical “Sweet Charity”
hit cinemas in 1969. Starring Shirley MacLaine, the motion picture featured the
show-stopper “The Rhythm Of Life”. Diana Ross & The Supremes teamed up with
fellow Motown vocal group The Temptations for a second TV special entitled “On Broadway”. The revue included a rendition of the song which was only a major
hit in Australia, where it peaked at #5.
