The 1967 Bond spoof ‘Casino Royale’ with David Niven portraying 007 was not an official EON- approved part of the film franchise. Also cast in the motion picture were well known actors Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Woody Allen, Orson Welles, Deborah Kerr and William Holden.

Despite its unofficial Bond film status, this movie did feature one of the finest songs in the 007 songbook. With music composed by Burt Bacharach and lyrics by Hal David, “The Look Of Love” was expertly performed by British pop sensation Dusty Springfield. Injecting her brand of blue-eyed soul into the track, the singer delivered a sensual vocal. The song was produced by Phil Ramone.

Springfield’s song reached #22 in America. “The Look Of Love” was nominated for an Academy Award, but lost to “Talk To The Animals” from ‘Doctor Dolittle’.
